Hidegkút

Hidegkút is a neighborhood located in the 2nd district of Budapest, Hungary, situated in the Buda hills. Historically a separate village, it was annexed to Budapest in 1950. The name "Hidegkút" translates to "cold well" or "cold spring" in Hungarian.

Hidegkút is known for its relatively quiet, residential character, with many family homes and gardens. It offers a more suburban feel compared to the densely populated inner districts of Budapest. While not directly on the Danube River, it is in proximity to other neighborhoods in the Buda side of the city that border the river.

Public transportation to and from Hidegkút is primarily provided by buses. Although it is situated in the hills, access to the city center is achievable via public transport.

The neighborhood has local amenities such as schools, shops, and parks, catering to the needs of its residents. While it lacks major tourist attractions, its green spaces and peaceful atmosphere are appreciated by locals and those seeking respite from the bustle of the city. The area has seen residential development over recent decades, while retaining its more relaxed atmosphere compared to central Budapest.
