Hemmingford, Quebec (township)

Hemmingford is a township municipality located in southwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Les Jardins-de-Napierville Regional County Municipality. It is situated in the Montérégie administrative region, close to the Canada–United States border.

The township is distinct from the Village of Hemmingford, which is an incorporated municipality completely surrounded by the township. The two are often referred to collectively as "Hemmingford," but are separate administrative entities.

Historically, Hemmingford Township was settled primarily by English-speaking pioneers, although the demographic makeup has become more diverse over time. Agriculture plays a significant role in the local economy, with apple orchards and other farming activities being prominent.

The township is known for its rural character and scenic landscapes. It also features historical buildings and sites reflecting its early settlement history. Hemmingford Township offers a blend of agricultural lands, woodlands, and residential areas.
