Rafael Bautista (baseball)

Rafael Bautista (born March 8, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Washington Nationals.

Professional Career

Bautista signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent in 2011. He spent several years in their minor league system, progressing through various levels including the Gulf Coast League Nationals, the Dominican Summer League Nationals, the Auburn Doubledays, the Hagerstown Suns, the Potomac Nationals, and the Harrisburg Senators.

Bautista made his Major League debut with the Washington Nationals on May 6, 2017. He appeared in 20 games for the Nationals in 2017, primarily as a pinch runner and outfielder. He spent parts of the 2018 and 2019 seasons in the Nationals' minor league system and with other organizations.

Playing Style

Bautista is known for his speed and defensive abilities. He has primarily played center field in the minor leagues, utilizing his speed to cover ground.
