Heldon

Heldon was a French progressive rock and electronic music group formed in 1974 by guitarist Robert Fripp and guitarist/keyboardist Richard Pinhas. The band is known for its dissonant, experimental sound, often characterized by heavy use of synthesizers, sequencers, and distorted guitars.

Heldon's music blended elements of krautrock, industrial music, and musique concrète, creating a unique and often challenging listening experience. Their work frequently featured complex rhythmic structures and atonal melodies, pushing the boundaries of traditional rock music.

Richard Pinhas was the central figure in Heldon, composing the majority of the band's material and guiding its overall direction. While the lineup of Heldon varied over its lifetime, Pinhas remained a constant presence.

Some of Heldon's notable albums include It's Always The Same, Agneta Nilsson, and Interface. The band disbanded in 1979. After Heldon's dissolution, Richard Pinhas continued his musical career as a solo artist, exploring similar sonic territories. Heldon's influence can be heard in the work of numerous subsequent experimental and industrial music acts.
