Heist (2006 TV series)
Heist was an American television drama series that aired on NBC from February 22, 2006, to March 29, 2006. Created by Doug Liman and Dave Bartis, the show centered on a team of professional thieves led by Mickey O'Neil (played by Dougray Scott) as they planned and executed a series of heists targeting three exclusive jewelry stores on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
The premise of the series was that each episode would progress the timeline of the planned heists, showcasing the various complexities, challenges, and close calls encountered by the team. The ensemble cast included actors such as Marley Shelton, Steve Harris, Robert Wisdom, and Michael Michele.
Despite its high-concept premise and experienced production team, Heist suffered from low ratings and was canceled after only five episodes aired. The remaining two episodes were not broadcast in the United States. The complete series was eventually released on DVD. The show's narrative style involved flashbacks and parallel storylines to provide context for the characters' motivations and the evolving heist plan. Critically, the show received mixed reviews, with some praising its ambitious narrative and action sequences while others criticized its convoluted plot and lack of character development.
