Rødenes
Rødenes is a former municipality in the southeastern part of Norway, located in the county of Viken (formerly Østfold). It bordered Sweden to the east.
History:
Rødenes existed as a municipality from 1838 until January 1, 2020, when it merged with Marker municipality to form the new municipality of Indre Østfold. Rødenes' history is deeply rooted in agriculture and forestry.
Geography:
The landscape is characterized by rolling hills, forests, and numerous lakes, including the northern part of the large lake, Stora Le. The terrain is generally suitable for agriculture, although forestry has also been a significant industry.
