Hank Smith (singer)

Hank Smith (born August 24, 1934, died July 24, 2022) was an American gospel singer and songwriter, primarily known for his work in Southern Gospel music. Smith was a founding member of the Dixie Melody Boys, a quartet he remained with for over five decades. He was known for his smooth bass voice and his extensive knowledge of Southern Gospel history. During his career with the Dixie Melody Boys, the group recorded numerous albums and achieved significant popularity within the Southern Gospel circuit. After leaving the Dixie Melody Boys, Smith continued to perform as a solo artist.
