HMS Warspite (1666)

HMS Warspite was a 70-gun third-rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, launched in 1666. She was built by Christopher Pett the Younger at Woolwich Dockyard, commissioned during the Second Anglo-Dutch War.

Warspite participated in several significant naval battles during the Anglo-Dutch Wars, including the Four Days' Battle (1666) shortly after her launch. Her role in these engagements consisted of delivering broadsides and maneuvering within the line of battle. Details of specific actions of the Warspite in each battle are scarce.

She was rebuilt in 1684, remaining a third-rate, but details of the rebuild specifications are unavailable.

The fate of HMS Warspite (1666) is unknown. It's presumed she was either wrecked, captured, or more likely, decommissioned and broken up at some point, given the typical lifespan of wooden warships of the period. Records of her eventual disposal have not survived.
