HMS Dee (1832)
HMS Dee was a wooden paddle steamer that served in the Royal Navy from 1832 to 1855. She was originally built as a mercantile vessel but was purchased by the Navy for service as a survey vessel. HMS Dee saw service in various parts of the world, including the Mediterranean and the coast of West Africa. She was involved in anti-slavery patrols off the African coast, intercepting slave ships and freeing enslaved people. The ship was broken up in 1855. She should not be confused with later vessels of the same name.
