HMS Conqueror (1801)

HMS Conqueror (1801) was a 74-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched in 1801 from the Rotherhithe yard owned by Pitcher.

Service History:

Conqueror's early service saw her engaged in routine patrols and convoy escort duties in the English Channel and Atlantic. In 1805, she participated in the Battle of Trafalgar under the command of Captain Israel Pellew. She played a significant role in the battle, engaging the French ships Achille and Redoutable, and was involved in the capture of the San Juan Nepomuceno.

Following Trafalgar, Conqueror continued to serve in various roles, including operations in the Mediterranean and the blockade of French ports. In 1810, she participated in the capture of Guadeloupe.

Fate:

HMS Conqueror was eventually broken up in 1822.
