HD 38529

HD 38529 is a G-type star located approximately 138 light-years away in the constellation Orion. It is a solar analog, meaning it shares similar characteristics to our Sun, although it is slightly more massive and luminous.

The star is known to host at least two extrasolar planets: HD 38529 b and HD 38529 c. HD 38529 b, discovered in 2000, is a hot Jupiter, a gas giant planet orbiting very close to its star. Its proximity results in a short orbital period. HD 38529 c, discovered later, is another gas giant, located further from the star than HD 38529 b. The two planets have a complex orbital relationship.

The presence of these planets makes HD 38529 a subject of ongoing research in exoplanet studies, particularly regarding planetary formation and migration mechanisms in multi-planet systems. The star's relative brightness has also facilitated detailed observations of the planets' properties.
