Gianni Moscon
Gianni Moscon (born April 20, 1994) is an Italian professional road cyclist who currently rides for the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. He is known for his strong time trialing and Classics performances, as well as for a history of controversial incidents and suspensions related to on-bike conduct.
Moscon turned professional in 2016 with Team Sky (later Team Ineos and Ineos Grenadiers) and quickly established himself as a promising talent. Notable early career results include winning the Arctic Race of Norway in 2017 and placing third in the 2017 UCI Road World Championships team time trial. He also showed considerable potential in one-day races, finishing fifth in the 2017 Paris-Roubaix.
Throughout his career, Moscon's performances have been overshadowed by various disciplinary issues. These include suspensions for using a motor during the 2016 World Championships, punching another rider at the 2017 Tour de France, and using racist language towards Kévin Réza at the 2020 Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne. These incidents have led to criticism and have impacted his reputation within the cycling community.
In 2022, Moscon left Ineos Grenadiers and joined Astana Qazaqstan Team. He later moved to the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
