Ferdinando Ruggieri (painter)
Ferdinando Ruggieri (died 1735) was an Italian painter active in Bologna during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He is primarily known for his quadratura, the art of painting illusionistic architectural spaces, and decorative frescoes. Ruggieri often collaborated with figure painters to complete larger commissions. Historical records indicate he was a respected, albeit not particularly well-documented, artist in his time. Details of his life and training are scarce, and attributions of specific works can be challenging due to the collaborative nature of quadratura painting. His death is recorded as occurring in 1735. More research is needed to fully catalog his oeuvre and understand his influence.
