Zoom (Electric Light Orchestra album)

Zoom is the thirteenth and final studio album by the British rock group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), released in 2001. It marked a significant departure from previous ELO albums due to its minimal involvement of founding member Jeff Lynne’s long-time collaborators. Lynne essentially performed as a solo artist, playing most of the instruments himself.

The album features guest appearances from notable musicians including Ringo Starr and George Harrison (both former members of The Beatles), as well as Richard Tandy, the only other core member of ELO to contribute to the album (playing keyboards on one track).

Zoom was intended to be a comeback album for ELO after a long hiatus, and a tour was planned to support it. However, disappointing sales and low ticket sales led to the tour's cancellation. Despite this, the album is considered by some fans to be a welcome return to the ELO sound, while others view it as a weaker effort due to the absence of key members and the circumstances surrounding its release. The singles released from the album were "Alright" and "Moment in Paradise." The album received mixed reviews upon its release.
