Nikon F70

The Nikon F70 (also known as the N70 in North America) is a 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera manufactured by Nikon Corporation. It was introduced in 1994 as a mid-range camera body in Nikon's consumer line, positioned between the F60 and the professional F90x.

The F70 features a built-in autofocus system, matrix metering, and a variety of exposure modes, including programmed auto, aperture-priority auto, shutter-priority auto, and manual. It utilizes a rotary command dial and a small LCD screen on the top deck for controlling camera settings. One of its more distinguishing features was the unusual user interface which relied heavily on button combinations for function selection, a departure from more traditional dial-based controls. This interface proved divisive, with some finding it intuitive and others considering it cumbersome.

The camera is compatible with Nikon's F-mount lenses, including both autofocus (AF) and manual focus lenses. However, it is important to note that some earlier manual focus lenses may not support all metering modes.

Power is supplied by four AA batteries. The F70 also offers various custom functions, allowing users to personalize camera settings to their preferences. Production of the Nikon F70 ceased in the late 1990s.
