Pârjoale
Pârjoale (singular: pârjoală) is a traditional Romanian dish, a type of pan-fried meatball or patty. The recipe can vary regionally, but typically involves ground meat (usually pork, beef, or a mixture of both), soaked bread or mashed potatoes, onions, garlic, and various spices such as salt, pepper, and often thyme or parsley. Some recipes also include eggs.
The ground meat mixture is formed into flattened, round or oval patties, which are then dredged in flour or breadcrumbs before being pan-fried in oil until golden brown and cooked through.
Pârjoale are often served as a main course, accompanied by mashed potatoes, pickles, mustard, or other side dishes. They can also be enjoyed as a cold appetizer or snack. Their simple preparation and readily available ingredients contribute to their popularity as a staple in Romanian cuisine.
