Bogève
Bogève is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France. Located in the Vallée Verte (Green Valley), it is a rural mountain village situated approximately 45 kilometers east of Geneva, Switzerland.
The primary industry in Bogève is tourism, both in summer and winter. In winter, the village is part of the larger ski area of Les Gets/Morzine, known as Les Portes du Soleil, offering access to a significant network of ski slopes. In summer, hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities are popular.
Historically, the area was primarily agricultural. Traditional Savoyard architecture is still visible in the village. The local economy also benefits from proximity to larger employment centers in the Geneva region.
The commune is known for its natural environment and is committed to preserving its rural character. The population is relatively small, typical of a mountain village, and has experienced some growth in recent years due to its proximity to Geneva.
