Synopsis

After the fall of Gwanghae, Tae-yul, once the best swordsman in the Joseon Dynasty, lives a secluded life with his daughter, Tae-ok, due to an injury that has affected his eyesight. Their peaceful existence is shattered when they are drawn into a power struggle involving the Qing dynasty, Joseon's royal family, and a ruthless slave trader named Gurutai (Joe Taslim). Tae-ok is kidnapped by Gurutai's men, forcing Tae-yul to unsheathe his sword once again to rescue her.
