Sunhouse (band)
Sunhouse was a British alternative rock band formed in Birmingham, England in the late 1990s. The band consisted of Gavin Clark (vocals, guitar), Paul Ramsey (guitar), Dan Brown (bass), and Dave Palmer (drums). They were known for their melancholic and atmospheric sound, drawing comparisons to bands like Radiohead and Jeff Buckley.
Sunhouse released two studio albums: Crazy On The Weekend (1998) and Second Hand Tales (2002). Crazy On The Weekend garnered critical acclaim and established the band within the UK alternative music scene. The album featured singles such as "Horses to Raleigh" and "Nothing Else is Real."
Following the release of Second Hand Tales, the band went on hiatus and eventually disbanded. Gavin Clark pursued a solo career, releasing several albums and contributing to film soundtracks before his death in 2015. The other members of the band pursued other musical projects.
Despite their relatively short lifespan, Sunhouse's music continues to be appreciated for its emotional depth and unique sound. They are considered by some to be an underrated band of the late 1990s British alternative scene.
