George Gould (Baptist)

George Gould (1818-1902) was a prominent Baptist minister and theologian in the United Kingdom. Born in Newport, Isle of Wight, he was educated at Stepney College, a leading Baptist theological institution. Gould served as the pastor of several notable Baptist churches, including George Street Chapel in Ryde, Isle of Wight, and later at Norwich, Norfolk.

He was a key figure in the Particular Baptist tradition, known for its emphasis on Calvinistic theology. Gould was a respected scholar of the Hebrew language and Old Testament, and he produced a significant commentary on the Book of Psalms. His theological writings and sermons were widely read within Baptist circles.
