George Edgar (writer)

George Edgar (1891-1973) was a British writer, primarily known for his prolific output of pulp fiction, adventure stories, and crime novels. He wrote under his own name and also several pseudonyms, including "Gordon Sinclair" and "Richard Glenton."

Edgar's stories often featured themes of daring-do, exotic locales, and criminal underworlds. He was particularly popular in the interwar period and during the years of World War II, providing escapist reading for a wide audience. While not critically acclaimed in the literary sense, his work was commercially successful and contributed significantly to the popular fiction landscape of his time.
