Gemünd (Schleiden)

Gemünd is a district (Stadtteil) of the town of Schleiden in the Euskirchen district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located at the confluence of the Olef and Urft rivers, which then form the River Erft.

Historically, Gemünd was an independent municipality until its incorporation into Schleiden as part of municipal reorganization in 1972.

Gemünd is known for its location within the Eifel National Park and serves as a gateway to the park. It is a popular tourist destination, offering hiking trails, cycling routes, and other recreational activities. The town also features various shops, restaurants, and accommodations catering to visitors.

The area's economy is largely dependent on tourism. Gemünd experienced significant damage during the 2021 European floods.
