Garrett Johnson (American football)
Garrett Johnson (born January 29, 1996) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Kentucky.
Early Life and High School
Johnson attended West Orange-Stark High School in Orange, Texas. He was a standout athlete in both football and track. He was a highly recruited wide receiver, earning All-State honors multiple times.
College Career
Johnson played college football for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2014 to 2017. He saw significant playing time throughout his career, contributing as a receiver and on special teams. His best season statistically was his junior year. He declared for the NFL Draft after his senior season.
Professional Career
- Los Angeles Rams: Johnson was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
- New Orleans Saints: Johnson was signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad in September 2018, and later promoted to the active roster. He was waived by the Saints in 2019.
- Dallas Cowboys: Johnson signed with the Dallas Cowboys practice squad in 2019.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Johnson signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad in 2019.
- Denver Broncos: Johnson was signed to the Denver Broncos practice squad in 2020. He was elevated to the active roster several times during the season. He was later released.
