Francis McDonald (footballer)
Francis McDonald is a former Scottish professional footballer who played primarily as a centre-forward.
McDonald began his career with Queen of the South in 1977, playing for the club until 1979. He then moved to Airdrieonians, where he played from 1979 to 1982. He is best known for his time at Hamilton Academical, where he played from 1982 to 1986, helping the club achieve promotion to the Scottish Premier Division. Following his time at Hamilton, he played for Clydebank between 1986 and 1988. After Clydebank, he returned to Queen of the South in 1988 where he finished his playing career.
