Fragile (Cherrelle album)

Fragile is the fourth studio album by American R&B singer Cherrelle, released in 1988 on Tabu Records. The album was produced primarily by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, as well as a few tracks by Bernard Belle.

Fragile reached number 25 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and number 135 on the Billboard 200. It spawned several singles, including "Everything I Miss at Home," which reached number 5 on the Billboard R&B chart. Other notable singles included "Never in My Life," and "Fragile… Handle with Care," a duet with Alexander O'Neal.

While Fragile continued Cherrelle's association with the Minneapolis sound, pioneered by Jam and Lewis, it explored more mature and introspective themes compared to her earlier work. The album's title reflects these themes of vulnerability and the delicate nature of relationships. The production incorporated synthesizers, drum machines, and layered vocals characteristic of the era.

Despite not reaching the commercial heights of her previous albums High Priority and Affair, Fragile is considered a solid entry in Cherrelle's discography and remains a favorite among fans of late 1980s R&B.
