St Louis (horse)
St Louis was a Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1891 in Kentucky. He was a chestnut colt sired by Spendthrift, out of the mare Marguerite, by Lexington.
St Louis is primarily remembered for his victory in the 1894 Kentucky Derby. He was ridden by Worth and defeated Chant, the favorite, in a time of 2:39.
Following his Kentucky Derby win, St Louis continued to race, but did not achieve the same level of success. His racing career was relatively short, and he was later retired to stud. Information regarding his stud career and eventual fate is sparse and difficult to verify.
