Maurice Fitzgerald (Gaelic footballer)

Maurice Fitzgerald is a retired Irish Gaelic footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He played primarily as a forward for the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1988 to 2001.

Fitzgerald was known for his exceptional skill, athleticism, and scoring ability. He possessed an uncanny ability to kick points from seemingly impossible angles and distances, and was a constant threat to opposition defenses. He was also a gifted playmaker, capable of setting up scores for his teammates.

During his career, Fitzgerald won two All-Ireland Senior Football Championships with Kerry, in 1997 and 2000. He also won three All-Star awards (1991, 1997, 2001) and was named Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1997. He captained Kerry in 1998 and 1999.
