Fox Lake is a city in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,624 at the 2020 census. It is located on the western shore of the lake of the same name, Fox Lake.

Geography:

Fox Lake is situated at 43°27′49″N 88°54′18″W (43.463656, -88.905054). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.56 square miles (4.04 km2), of which, 1.35 square miles (3.50 km2) is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 km2) is water.

History:

The area was originally inhabited by Native Americans. European settlers arrived in the mid-19th century, drawn by the fertile land and the opportunities provided by Fox Lake. The city was officially incorporated in 1876. Fox Lake's history is closely tied to the lake itself, which served as a transportation route and a source of livelihood.

Demographics:

As of the 2020 census, there were 1,624 people, 686 households, and 415 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,202.9 inhabitants per square mile (464.4/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.1% White, 0.7% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 2.1% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.0% of the population.
