Farhad Moshiri (artist)
Farhad Moshiri (born 1963, Shiraz, Iran) is a contemporary Iranian artist best known for his works that blend traditional Iranian craft techniques with elements of Pop Art and Conceptual Art. He often incorporates materials such as beads, sequins, and embroidery in his sculptures and paintings, creating visually striking and often ironic commentaries on consumer culture, luxury, and the clash between Eastern and Western aesthetics.
Moshiri studied at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in the United States, which significantly influenced his artistic development. His work frequently addresses themes of identity, cultural appropriation, and the commodification of art.
