Emese Hunyady

Emese Hunyady (born March 4, 1966) is a former speed skater who competed internationally for Austria. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she began her career representing Hungary but later gained Austrian citizenship and represented Austria from 1985 onward.

Hunyady achieved her greatest success at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, where she won a gold medal in the 1500 meters event. She also won a bronze medal in the 3000 meters at the same Olympics. Throughout her career, she won multiple medals at World Championships, including gold at the 1994 World Allround Speed Skating Championships. She was known for her strong all-around abilities, excelling in multiple distances.
