Sujata (1959 film)

Sujata is a 1959 Hindi-language Bimal Roy film about a Brahmin man, Adhir (Sunil Dutt), who defies societal norms and falls in love with Sujata (Nutan), an orphaned woman of the untouchable caste, raised in his family.

The film explores themes of caste discrimination, social injustice, and the power of love to transcend societal barriers. It portrays the rigid hierarchical structure of Indian society and the challenges faced by those considered to be outside the traditional caste system.
