Elizabeth Walters (politician)

Elizabeth Walters is an American politician serving as the Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party since 2021.

Prior to becoming Chair, Walters served as the Mayor of Akron, Ohio, a position she held from 2015 to 2021. She was first elected to the Akron City Council in 2009, representing Ward 8. As Mayor, Walters focused on initiatives related to economic development, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. Her administration emphasized revitalizing Akron's downtown area, promoting green infrastructure, and addressing issues of poverty and inequality within the city.
