Bombay Castle (South China Sea)

Bombay Castle was an oil field and associated production facility located in the South China Sea. Operated by Premier Oil (later Harbour Energy), it was situated approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) southeast of Vietnam. Production from the field commenced in 1999 and ceased in 2020 due to declining production rates and the economic viability of continued operations. The facility consisted of a wellhead platform and a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which processed and stored the extracted crude oil before it was offloaded to tankers for transportation to market. The oil produced was typically a light, sweet crude. Decommissioning of the Bombay Castle field began following cessation of production.
