Li Xiyin

Li Xiyin (李希尹, died 837), courtesy name Changyong (長用), was a general of the Tang Dynasty of China. He served as a Jiedushi (military governor) of the Weibo Circuit (魏博, headquartered in modern Handan, Hebei) from 830 to 837.

Born to the prominent Li family of Zhao Commandery (趙郡, roughly modern Shijiazhuang, Hebei), Li Xiyin continued the de facto independent rule of the Weibo Circuit established by his father, Li Su, after Li Su had successfully quelled the rebellion of Wang Chengzong and was granted the circuit. After Li Su's death, the imperial court, seeking to reassert control, made Li Su's nephew, Li Zaiyi, military governor. However, after Li Zaiyi’s murder, the soldiers of Weibo requested Li Xiyin to take over as acting military governor, and the imperial court reluctantly confirmed him in this role.

During his tenure, Li Xiyin was known for his pragmatic and conciliatory approach towards the imperial court. Although the Weibo Circuit remained largely autonomous, he outwardly demonstrated loyalty and sent tributes. He focused on maintaining stability and improving the local economy. He was succeeded by his son, Li Hongjie, continuing the family's control over the circuit.
