Elizabeth Hoffman (actress)

Elizabeth Hoffman (born February 11, 1927, Corvallis, Oregon; died August 21, 2023, Malibu, California) was an American actress with a career spanning stage, film, and television. Hoffman was particularly known for her work in soap operas and for playing character roles in primetime television series.

Hoffman began her acting career on stage, appearing in numerous regional theatre productions. She transitioned to television in the 1960s, quickly establishing herself as a reliable and versatile performer.

Some of her notable television credits include appearances on Little House on the Prairie, Columbo, The Incredible Hulk, Matlock, Murder, She Wrote, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. She also had recurring roles in several soap operas, including Days of Our Lives (as Dr. Marlena Evans' aunt, Samantha), General Hospital (as Agnes Potter), and Santa Barbara (as Myrna Clegg).

Hoffman's film appearances include roles in Stargate, Volcano, and The Trial of Old Drum.

She was married to Gordon Russell Hoffman from 1951 until his death in 2011.
