Elephant Boy (film)

Elephant Boy is the title of several adaptations of Rudyard Kipling's short story "Toomai of the Elephants" from The Jungle Book (1894).

The most well-known adaptation is the 1937 British adventure film directed by Robert J. Flaherty and Zoltán Korda. It stars Sabu as Toomai, a young Indian boy who develops a close bond with elephants and eventually witnesses the secret dance of the elephants. The film was a significant success and launched Sabu's career as a film star.

There have been other film and television adaptations of the story, some also titled Elephant Boy, although the 1937 film remains the most prominent. These adaptations typically center on the relationship between a young boy and elephants in India and the boy's coming-of-age journey.
