Charlie Davis (baseball)

Charlie Davis (born June 10, 1949, in Glenwood, Alabama) is a former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for parts of five seasons from 1973 to 1977.

Davis was drafted by the California Angels in the 15th round of the 1971 MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Angels on September 6, 1973. Primarily a reserve outfielder, Davis also spent time with the St. Louis Cardinals (1975) and the San Francisco Giants (1976-1977). His career was largely defined by limited playing time, making it difficult for him to establish himself at the major league level. His final MLB appearance was on July 2, 1977, for the Giants.

While never a star player, Davis contributed with his speed and defensive versatility when given the opportunity. After his major league career ended, he continued to play in the minor leagues.
