Nurul Mustafa

Nurul Mustafa (born c. 1976) is a Bangladeshi-American mathematician specializing in algebraic geometry. He is a professor at the University of Utah. His research focuses on singularities of algebraic varieties, multiplier ideals, and related topics in birational geometry.

Mustafa received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2004, under the supervision of Mircea Mustață. He has held positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Utah.

His work has been recognized with several awards and honors. He is known for his contributions to the understanding of singularities and their connections to commutative algebra and representation theory. Mustafa is actively involved in mentoring and supporting early-career mathematicians.
