Ed Young (cricketer)

Edward "Ed" Young (born 13 July 1975) is a former English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who occasionally bowled right-arm medium pace.

Young played first-class cricket for Oxford University, Cambridge University Centre of Cricketing Excellence (Cambridge UCCE), and Northamptonshire. He made his first-class debut for Oxford University against Glamorgan in 1996. He played for Oxford until 1997, then for Cambridge UCCE from 2000 to 2001. His Northamptonshire career spanned from 1998 to 2002.

Although he never achieved widespread recognition in the professional game, Young was a consistent performer at university level and contributed to Northamptonshire with occasional appearances and lower-order batting. He retired from professional cricket in 2002.
