Dundas (federal electoral district)

Dundas was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that existed at various times between 1867 and 1997. The riding was located in eastern Ontario, encompassing the geographic area of the historic Dundas County.

Originally created as part of the British North America Act of 1867, Dundas elected a Member of Parliament to the House of Commons. The riding boundaries were adjusted several times throughout its history to reflect population changes.

The political landscape of Dundas shifted over the decades. It was represented by both Liberal and Conservative (and Progressive Conservative) Members of Parliament during its existence.

Dundas was abolished in 1996 when the electoral map was redrawn. Its territory was largely incorporated into the newly formed Stormont—Dundas electoral district. The abolition took effect for the 1997 federal election.
