Donald Thomas (American football)
Donald Thomas (born March 6, 1986) is an American former professional football player who played as an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL).
Early Life and College Career
Thomas attended Harding University, a Division II school, where he played college football for the Harding Bisons. He was a standout offensive lineman during his time there. Prior to Harding, he played basketball at Connecticut's New Britain High School. His unusual path to the NFL, coming from a smaller school and having initially focused on basketball, contributed to his being considered a relative unknown when he entered the draft.
Professional Career
Thomas was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round (196th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played for the Dolphins from 2008 to 2010.
Following his time with the Dolphins, Thomas signed with the New England Patriots in 2011. However, he was released before the start of the season.
He subsequently played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2011 to 2014, becoming a valuable member of their offensive line.
In 2015, Thomas signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for the Jaguars until 2017.
