Don Riley (American football)

Don Riley (born July 14, 1932, died January 28, 2022) was an American football coach. He is best known for his long tenure as the offensive line coach for the University of Alabama under head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, from 1958 to 1979. During that time, Alabama won six national championships (1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979) and thirteen Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles.

Prior to his time at Alabama, Riley played football at the University of Oklahoma under coach Bud Wilkinson. He was an All-American guard on the Sooners' national championship teams in 1955 and 1956.

After leaving Alabama, Riley spent several years coaching in the National Football League (NFL). He served as the offensive line coach for the Green Bay Packers (1980-1983) and the Detroit Lions (1985-1988).

Riley was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
