Dialia
Dialia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Melanthiaceae. These plants are primarily found in eastern Asia.
Dialia species are perennial herbs characterized by rhizomatous roots. They typically feature broad, ovate leaves and produce small, star-shaped flowers arranged in umbels or racemes. The flowers are usually white or greenish-white. Following flowering, the plants develop berries.
The classification of Dialia has been subject to some debate, with certain species previously classified under the genus Smilacina. Modern phylogenetic studies, however, have supported the recognition of Dialia as a distinct genus.
