Chico Ruiz (born Ricardo Ruiz on November 21, 1951, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico) is a former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds and the California Angels.
Ruiz was primarily a utility infielder, playing primarily shortstop, second base, and third base during his MLB career. He signed with the Reds as an amateur free agent in 1970 and made his major league debut with them in 1974.
Ruiz was known more for his defensive abilities and versatility than for his offensive production. He was a valuable player for the Reds and Angels, providing depth at multiple infield positions. He was released by the Angels after the 1979 season and did not play professionally again.
