Devyatkino (Saint Petersburg Metro)

Devyatkino is the northern terminus of the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line (Line 1) of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It is located just outside the city limits in the settlement of Devyatkino, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Oblast.

The station is unique in that it is the only Saint Petersburg Metro station located outside the city proper. It serves a large commuter population from the surrounding suburban areas. The station is integrated with a railway station serving suburban trains to the northern part of the Leningrad Oblast, providing a vital transportation hub.

Devyatkino opened on December 29, 1978, as part of the extension of the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line northward. Initially, the station was planned to be named "Komsomolskaya," but it was later renamed "Devyatkino" to reflect its location.

The station has a typical pylon-trivault design, characteristic of many stations built during that period of the Saint Petersburg Metro's development. The walls are faced with white marble, and the pylons are decorated with metallic panels. The lighting fixtures are incorporated into the vaults.

The above-ground vestibule is integrated into the railway station building, providing convenient access to both metro and suburban rail services. Passenger flow can be heavy during peak hours due to the large number of commuters using the station.
