Denis Kapustin (athlete)
Denis Kapustin (born October 5, 1970) is a retired Russian triple jumper who competed internationally for both the Soviet Union and later Russia. He is best known for winning the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney with a jump of 17.46 meters.
Prior to his Olympic success, Kapustin achieved a number of other notable results. He won the silver medal at the 1994 European Indoor Championships. He also participated in several World Championships and other major international competitions, consistently placing among the top competitors.
Kapustin's personal best in the triple jump is 17.62 meters, achieved in 1998. He represented CSKA Moscow during his athletic career. After retirement from competitive athletics, he has been involved in coaching and mentoring young athletes.
