Peter Hughes (Australian politician)
Peter Hughes (born 1931, died 2019) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1973 to 1991. He was a member of the Liberal Party.
Hughes was educated at Sydney Grammar School and the University of Sydney, where he studied law. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a solicitor.
In the Legislative Council, Hughes served on various committees and held positions including Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and Shadow Attorney-General. He was known for his contributions to debates on legal and constitutional matters.
After retiring from parliament in 1991, Hughes remained involved in community affairs.
