Deadwater Drowning (EP)
Deadwater Drowning is a 2007 extended play (EP) by the American metalcore band, Bleeding Through. It was released on Ides of March Records and serves as a transitional release between their heavier, more aggressive earlier sound and the more melodic and symphonic elements that would be prominent in their later albums.
The EP features re-recorded versions of older tracks from their earlier, pre-Trustkill Records era, specifically songs that appeared on their self-titled debut album and the Dust to Ashes EP. In addition to re-recordings, Deadwater Drowning also included new material and a cover song. The lyrical themes explored on the EP often deal with personal struggles, relationships, and the darker aspects of human emotion.
The release of Deadwater Drowning helped to bridge the gap between Bleeding Through's older fanbase who were familiar with their independent material and newer fans who were introduced to the band through their Trustkill releases. It is considered a significant part of their discography, demonstrating their evolution and offering a retrospective glimpse into their earlier work.
