David Crane (producer)
David Crane is an American television writer and producer, best known as the co-creator of the hit NBC sitcom Friends.
Crane, along with partner Marta Kauffman, created and executive produced Friends, which aired for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004. The show became a global phenomenon and cemented Crane's place as a major force in television comedy.
Prior to Friends, Crane and Kauffman worked together on the HBO comedy Dream On.
Following the success of Friends, Crane and Kauffman went on to create Joey, a spin-off series starring Matt LeBlanc, which ran for two seasons. They also co-created the HBO series Episodes, starring Matt LeBlanc, about a British writing team adapting their successful British comedy for American television.
Crane's work has been nominated for numerous awards, including Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Friends and Episodes. He has also won several awards for his contributions to television. His contributions to television comedy are significant and widely recognized.
