Dave Steen (decathlete)

Dave Steen (born November 14, 1959) is a Canadian former decathlete. He is best known for winning the bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. This medal remains a significant achievement for Canadian athletics.

Steen also competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, finishing in 15th place. Throughout his career, he consistently ranked among the top decathletes globally. He was a multiple-time national champion and represented Canada in numerous international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games.

Following his athletic career, Steen remained involved in the sport of athletics, working as a coach and mentor to aspiring athletes. He is considered a prominent figure in the history of Canadian track and field.
